Grit & Grace - The Colonial Makeover

Hi Everyone! First blog post in a really long time, but wanted to document this process. My husband and I recently purchased a 1950’s colonial in the Pittsburgh area. We say this is our forever home (but I’m sure some of our friends question that… lol). Yes, we’ll soon be moving out of our 4 year old - new construction - modern farm house. I’ll make sure to post lots of photos before it’s officially sold. But on to the fixer-upper… we immediately fell in love with this home. It’s architectural detailing, sprawling first floor, and the yard, oh the yard! It will all be so lovely once it’s livable. Yes, we’re in the middle of construction, completely gutting the second floor to make a 4th bedroom, and the house isn’t quite livable in it’s current state. But it will get there, and it will be lovely! Here are some before pictures:
